Two of the world’s most celebrated rappers will perform together this Sunday at the MTV Virtual Music Awards. Eminem and Snoop Dogg will perform their hit collaboration “From the D 2 The L.B.C.” inside the world of the Otherside metaverse. This performance is in partnership with Yuga Labs and is sure to be an unforgettable event.

This year’s NFT. N.Y.C. saw the metaverse-inspired music video release, “From the D 2 The L.B.C.” The track features Eminem and Snoop in their signature styles—animated characters in a BAYC-themed world.

VMA will Witness One of a Kind Metaverse Inspired performances by Artists

Certainly, the performance is the first of its kind at the award show. It will air LIVE from Prudential Center on Sunday, August 28, at 8 PM ET/PT. The press release states that the video does a fantastic job of bringing the lyrics to life with exciting visuals.

The two artists have been nominated in the “Best Hip Hop” category for their first collaboration in over 20 years. Rapper Eminem last took the stage at the V.M.A.s over 12 years ago, performing “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie.”  With 60 nominations, he trails only Madonna, who has 69 nominations.

A Collaboration After a Decade will Create a magic on-stage

It has been more than a decade since either rapper has graced the V.M.A. stage with their talent. In 2005, Snoop and Diddy performed as a duo at the V.M.A.s in honor of the late great Notorious B.I.G. Then, in 2010, Rihanna and Eminem took the stage to perform ‘Not Afraid’ and ‘Love the Way You Lie.’ The two rappers are teaming up this year to bring their signature style back to the V.M.A.s.

Web3 has seen many celebrities trying to break into the space, but few have been as successful as Snoop. So he teamed up with Animoca Brands subsidiary, The Sandbox, to create Snoopverse. It’s a virtual world featuring Snoop-themed NFTs, virtual real estate and games. It’s been a massive hit with fans and has made him one of the most famous celebrities in space.
