FInancial service company Stripe adding crypto payouts in USDC

Stripe will use the Polygon network with support payouts in USDC, a stable coin pegged to the US dollar.  By using the Polygon network, there will be low fees, speed, integration with Ethereum, and digital wallet compatibility including MetaMaks, Coinbase Wallet, and Rainbow.  Stripe’s users can now pay sellers, freelancers, and content creators in crypto with crypto payout service.

Twitter will be the first company to test out the crypto payout feature which allows users to receive payments earned from Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows.  Once users receive their earnings in crypto, they can hold their balance on Polygon, or choose to bridge to Ethereum and exchange it into another currency.

According to Stripe, they are planning to add support for additional rails and payout currencies over time.  Twitter produce lead for creators Esther Crawford said, “Twitter is where people go to have conversations about what’s happening. We’re focused on helping creators who drive those conversations earn money and connect with their audiences in new ways. We’re excited to begin offering crypto payouts to creators via Stripe so they have more choice in how they get paid.”
