raised $24M in its series A funding round

As mentioned, UnCaged Studio, the Israeli gaming studio behind the Solana-based triple AAA hit ‘MonkeyLeague,’ a play-to-earn, Web3, turn-based multiplayer soccer game, has successfully raised $24 million USD in a Series A equity fundraising round. This follows UnCaged’s $4 million token presale for MonkeyLeague.

The money will also be used for future projects on its native Game OS platform. Game OS supports those entering blockchain gaming through its end-to-end developer platform. From tokenomics to non-fungible token (NFT) integration, it is intended to help gaming companies make the switch from Web2 to Web3.

More about MonkeyLeague

MonkeyLeague is an esports metaverse built on Solana. It is based on the Unity Engine and offers a fast-paced and play-to-earn arcade in which players are challenged with creating their ultimate Monkey League Squad, which comprises four monkeys with varied positions such as striker, midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper.

Each Monkey has traits that allow them to perform better in specific places, and each match lasts 12 rounds and is played between two teams.

In an interview with TechCrunch the co-founder of UnCaged Studio, Raz Friedman said “We could’ve taken money from crypto funds, but it’s stronger to take it from the game industry and believers”. He also added, “We are a gaming company first that is utilizing and bringing web3 into games, rather than being a web3-first company.”

GameOS

Game OS is UnCaged’s native platform, and it makes use of its end-to-end development platform, Web3, and Non-Fungible tokens (NFT) integration to make it easier for developers and game studios to take advantage of the Web3 area. It also handles Web3 technical features like wallet integration, technical NFT infrastructure and Economy, and user management.

Raz and Tal Friendman, brothers with experience from their time at Playtika, an Israel-based digital entertainment firm, launched UnCaged Studio. Raz Friedman is the company’s chief operating officer, and Tai Friendman is the studio’s general manager.
