FanCircles “Community App” Gap Between Web2 and Web3.

Last updated:

Community app company FanCircles has firmly entered the Web3 space after integrating its established white-labelled platforms with wallet validation features that allow gated access to NFT collection holders.

The established platform provider Fancircles, formed in 2016, already runs branded experiences apps for over fifty projects, including Boy George, Neck Deep and Shamanzs NFT.

Each platform is available under each respective project’s name in Google Play and Apple app stores and as web apps. Unlike most platforms, it is not a collection of names under an umbrella brand, but individual branded platforms that give a true sense of home for each community. The apps provide an impressive array of features from project and community walls to live streaming of video and audio, the ability to share photos and videos, build user-profiles and enable live chat. All in a traditional “post” / “comment” format similar to that of social media platforms, rather than Discord and Telegram’s chat streams.

They position themselves as a premium community app for both fans and holders of a project’s NFTs and as a roadmap item that enables projects to understand their user base and demographics with direct reach to users.

It’s a brandable app that builds community far beyond that of the demographic of Discord users and opens up the NFT space to the web2 space, with a simple yet intuitive interface that aligns with brand values and demographics.“, says CEO Kevin Brown.

As the NFT space matures, it’s essential to widen the reach and understand users’ demographics. Providing a platform that meets brand core values is key to this, and this is where FanCircles delivers a premium experience.

Not only do FanCircles apps provide a platform with almost zero learning curve, but their platforms also provide real value to projects in the weeks following mint and can even be used as a safe alternative to Discord.

Security is one of the most significant issues that plague NFT projects using Discord, not because of deficiencies within Discord but due to security hacks in some of the third party “add ons” used by NFT projects. Although no system can be 100% secure, the FanCircles apps have the more essential features built into their platforms, minimising the risk of third-party tool vulnerabilities.

FanCircles apps are equally designed to be a replacement to Discord or a valuable roadmap tool after a project has launched. However, the value to building brands begins before even opening an app. The design and user experience allow brands to build a strong user connection with balanced features, encouraging non-holders to buy into a project.

Gating holder benefits from event tickets to merchandise to gated content is simply for admins via the web interface. There’s also an array of on-the-road features such as live video broadcasting (directly from the app) to posting uploads and photos from the phone’s camera roll. It’s designed from the bottom up to be easy for fans and admins.

They design and build each app within four weeks.
