Mercedes Partner with FTX to Create F1 NFT Collection

The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team has partnered with cryptocurrency exchange company FTX.  The F1 team is having a partnership with various artists this year according to the press release.

FTX announced a partnership for the Miami Beach race weekend.  From May 6 to May 8, FTX and Mercedes AMG Petronas will take “the thrill of racing onto the beach with all-day entertainment and a soundtrack, including epic headline acts closing the show each day.”

The first release of the Mercedes AMG Petronas NFTs are free-to-claim ‘Ticket Stubs’ and it is a digital and artistic interpretation of the Mercedes F1 race tickets.

There will be 2,500 NFT Ticket Stubs NFTs dedicated to each race of the season.  In addition, Ticket Stubs NFTs will be randomly distributed to fans enrolled in the initiative.

The second NFT collection will be 1,000 limited edition Ticket Stubs NFTs distributed free of charge.  Mercedes will be distributing these second NFT collections for free at five races across the season’s calendar.

Lastly, the third NFT collection will be 10 exclusive NFTs.  The third NFT collection can only be purchased through an FTX US NFT marketplace auction.

The NFT artwork will have cars driven by Mercedes AMG Petronas drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russel in the Miami edition.  It will also have rear wing plates used on the car on race day designed by the artist Mad Dog Jones.

These three NFT collections are described as ‘incredible auction items present the first ever chance to own a piece of both digital and physical motorsport history’ according to Mercedes AMG Petronas.  The auction will start on Friday, May 6 at 10:00am EDT on the FTX NFT marketplace.
