Prada Set to Release Its “Timecapsule” NFT Drop This June

Prada NFT debut is officially confirmed with its solo NFT drop, linked to the brand’s Timecapsule project.

The Italian luxury brand released Timecapsule in 2019. This project is a limited-edition drop of a ready-to-wear product that is only available for 24 hours on the brand’s online store. Each item is given a unique serial number and arrives in custom packaging.

The shirt showcases Hirst’s signature mask and brain scan designs.

The company decided to combine Timecapsule’s limited edition strategy with the inherent scarcity and desirability of NFTs. Beginning June 2 at 14:00 BST, 100 editions of the two shirts will be available for purchase. After that, each launch of the Prada Timecapsule will be limited to 50 items.

With the launch of their own Discord channel, ‘Prada Crypted,’ the Italian luxury powerhouse is engaging directly with the digital fashion and gaming communities.

Prada NFT Drop serves as a reward for consumer loyalty

The June Prada NFT release will highlight a new collaboration between the brand and artist Cassius Hirst, son of artist Damien Hirst. Following the Cass x Prada collection’s release this month, the two parties teamed up to create a unisex shirt featuring Hirst’s signature mask and brand scan designs.

Prada Timecapsule NFTs are issued on the Ethereum blockchain.

Furthermore, the physical garment will arrive with a Prada NFT that includes the drop’s serial number and the number of each physical item for exact correspondence.

Prada Timecapsule NFTs use Aura Blockchain Consortium technology. This technology was formed last year when LVMH Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Prada Group, and Compagnie Financière Richemont joined forces to promote the use of a single blockchain solution open to all luxury brands worldwide.

More and more companies are investing in web3, such as Nike, which recently unveiled its first sneaker, the NFT.
