The Vatican’s Official NFT Project Aims to Bring Humanity Together.

The Vatican has announced its opening of an official VR NFT where global audiences will be able to enjoy the collection of art, manuscripts, and other items.

The Vatican City is a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy, and is the headquarters for the Roman Catholic Church. It is considered the smallest country in Europe with its self-governing laws and system. It is also the home of the Pope. The Vatican house many historical and religious significant artworks. The organization is aims to share a future of “democratized art” with the world.

In their collection, there are over 70,000 works of art in the Vatican Museum, including the Sistine Chapel, the Stanze di Raffaello, the Pinacoteca Vaticana, and many more masterworks.

This project is a partnership between  Sensorium, a VR company founded in 2018 by billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, and Humanity 2.0, A Vatican-led nonprofit group. The experience aims to remove boundaries and work towards “human flourishing”.

Father Philip Larrey, the chairman of Humanity 2.0 stated “We look forward to working with Sensorium to explore ways to democratize art, making it more widely available to people worldwide regardless of their socio-economic and geographical limitations.”

No words if any of the Vatican NFTs will be listed for sale, while it is exciting to see the organization embracing blockchain technology.
